The Bleeding Swan

She’s beautiful yet she doesn’t think so,

She tries to get over this point of feeling low.

She has feelings of hate and pain,

So she cuts herself to let the emotions drain.

She watches herself bleed until she falls asleep,

No one cares! or so she thinks, so she says nothing, not a peep

She is a swan so beautiful at work,

But in the shadows she thinks she must lurk.

She knows one day she will have to move on,

But until then she remains the bleeding swan. ©
